The mark consists of a three-dimensional product packaging design comprised of the stylized design of a king chess piece, topped by a cross, protruding as a raised surface detail from the front of a champagne bottle. The king chess piece is positioned such that it extends from the center of the bottle's bottom up to the middle of the bottle. Behind the king chess piece and affixed to the bottle is a molded chess-shaped piece that illuminates the king chess piece. On the base of the chess piece, in stylized and raised script, is the wording "LE CHEMIN DU ROI". Centered beneath this, in smaller raised script and also on the base of the chess piece, is the wording "PRODUCT OF FRANCE". The matter shown in dotted lines is not claimed as a feature of the mark, but serves to show the position of the mark with respect to the bottle as a whole, and to show the placement of the mark on the goods.

It is a condition of registration that the trade mark will only be used under the conditions entered on the Register of Protected Geographical Indications and Other Terms for use of the Geographical Indication CHAMPAGNE and that the use will accord with the Wine Australia Act 2013. The English translation of LE CHEMIN DU ROI in the mark is THE KING'S ROAD.
